People watching art; Biennale
During my time at the Venice Biennale, I focused on the people engaging with it—or, at times, merely appearing to engage. Through a series of observational drawings, I tried to capture the paradoxical moments of art spectatorship: visitors snapping countless photos of paintings rather than experiencing them, hurriedly moving through exhibits without pause, or standing absorbed in thought, surrounded by the hum of the Biennale
These drawings reflect a duality: the fascinating rituals of how we consume art and the subtle critique of our often distracted ways of looking. The project reveals a tension between presence and absence—between the desire to connect with art and the distractions of modern habits
